Marianne Tuckman (born 1994, London) is a dance theatre artist, writer and facilitator based between Berlin and Leeds. With a mission to make words sweat, her work focuses on the relationship between text and embodied live performance. She makes surreal, political and funny performances that have been presented in 17 towns and cities around the world. Her projects have been supported by Arts Council England, Arts Council Wales, Leeds City Council, Kultur Macht Stark, Dachverband Tanz Deutschland among others. She was a participant of the Tailor-made Fellowships program of Οnassis AiR (Athens) 2022-23. From 2021- 2024 she designed and lead the site-specific module at Northern School of Contemporary Dance for BA1 and was a guest lecturer in Choreography and Creative Practice.
She understands her role as a choreographer to hold spaces for dance and talk conversations between diverse groups of people. She has maintained a relationship with Meeting Point since 2015; organising regular projects connecting refugees and asylum seekers with art professionals in Leeds. Together with Lily Pöhlmann she initiated LAUTSTARK in 2025, an interdisciplinary workshop series with young people in Lichtenberg (Berlin) and the Theater an der Parkaue.
Marianne has an MPHIL in creative writing and philosophy from Swansea University (2022) and a BA in contemporary dance from Northern School of Contemporary Dance (2015).
