Text Collage
I love to play with the cut-up technique. It's one of my favourite ways of composing texts. By ripping words and phrases from their contexts, meaning can be manipulated, authorship is challenged, and accepted ways of thinking are shaken up. Who's voice is this?
Have you got any secrets?
Iowa Girl Eats
Using the following sources: Iowa Girl Eats (Gluten-Free Blog) and Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 19)
After getting married to Ben in 2008 I had a lot of time on my hands that was previously spent wedding planning. At the time Ben was also working nights. So when two angels arrived one evening I invited them to stay in my house. No, they answered we will spend the night in the square. I insisted so strongly that they did go with me and entered my house. I prepared a meal for them using one of the quick and easy family friendly recipes in my Gluten-free for beginners 30 Day Meal Plan and we ate. Before they had gone to bed , all the men from every part of the city of Iowa – both young and old- surrounded my house.
They called to me, Iowa Girl Eats “where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so we can have sex with them.
I went out to meet them and shut the door behind me and said 'No my friends. Don't do this wicked thing. Look, I have two daughters who have never slept with a man. Let me bring them out to you and you can do what you like with them. But don't do anything to these men, for they have the protection of my roof'
The angels said to me 'Do you have anyone else here- sons-in law, sons or daughters or anyone else in Iowa who belongs to you? Get them out of here because we are going to destroy this place.”
Iowa Girl Eats said to them, No my lords please ! Your servant has found transitioning to a gluten-free way of life was not easy in her eyes and you have shown great kindness in sparing my first e-book. I can't flee to the mountains, this disaster will overtake me and I'll die. Look, I published my first ebook Gluten Free for beginners 30 Day Meal Plan and Guide for Gluten free success in a town near enough to run to, and it's small. Let me flee to it- and my life will be spared from my new diagnosis.
After a period of wallowing, the two angels returned. I hit the books sitting in the gateway of the city to learn everything I could about Celiac Disease and what it means to live and eat with my face bowed to the ground. My lords, the bad news was I had to say goodbye to your servant and wash my feet thoroughly after those Friday night of pizza and beers.
He said to me 'Very well, I will grant this request; I will not overthrow the town you speak of but flee there quickly and learn exactly how to go gluten-free while avoiding the stumbles and missteps of the town that was called Zoar.
