Noi Ansamble
is a Berlin based collective of 8 individuals from different disciplines on a mission to notice what is already there, recycle it and use this material to construct performances in a range of settings. Nothing we do is totally ‘noi’ but we always begin at the beginning.
Noi Ansamble began working together in December 2018 and was in residency at Liebig12 throughout 2019/20. So far, they have performed their work at Vorspiel (CTM and Transmediale), Acker Stadt Palast, Liebig12, Galerie M and various public spaces in Berlin.
First to Blink
13 individuals share one body. Their faces are masked with your reflection. Throughout the night this will move through ACUD Macht Neu.
Try to meet them.
Try a real encounter.
Who will be the first to blink?

'To be on display is to have the surface of one's own skin,
the hairs of one's own body, turned into a disguise which, in that situation can never be discarded. The nude is condemned to never being naked.'
John Berger, Ways of Seeing
This 3 hour performance intervention was interpreted by a cast of 13 with a range of performance experience. The intervention began on stage with a 15 minute choreographed piece (directed by Ula Liagaite) with an original composition (by Marcelo Schmittner), the audio included a text collage (by Marianne Tuckman).
